Product Details

Description

Striker herbicide is a selective, systemic herbicide used post-emergence in maize crops to control various weeds. It is formulated as an oil dispersion (OD) and contains the active ingredient Nicosulfuron. Striker is effective against annual grasses, broad-leaved weeds, and some perennial grasses.

Details:

Target Crop: Maize (corn)

Type: Selective, systemic, post-emergence herbicide

Active Ingredient: Nicosulfuron

Formulation: Oil dispersion (OD)

Mode of Action: Nicosulfuron is absorbed by the weeds and inhibits acetolactate synthase (ALS), a key enzyme for amino acid synthesis, which stops weed growth.

Weed Spectrum: Controls annual grasses (e.g., Setaria, Echinochloa, Digitaria, Panicum, Lolium, and Avena spp.), broad-leaved weeds (e.g., Amaranthus spp. and Cruciferae), and perennial grasses like Sorghum halepense and Agropyron repens.

Application: Typically applied at a rate of 1.25-1.5 l/ha for general weed control, with higher doses for difficult-to-control weeds.

Crop Stage: 2-5 leaves for the maize crop, with emerged, actively growing weeds.

Compatibility: Not compatible with organophosphate insecticides.

Additional Information:

Striker is considered a broad-spectrum herbicide.

It's effective against weeds that compete with maize plants
