Key points of seedling cultivation
Nursery container and soil: Nursery trays, small flower pots, or disposable paper cups can be selected, and holes should be punched at the bottom to prevent water leakage.Loose and breathable seedling soil should be used, such as decomposed leaf soil, garden soil, and perlite mixed in a ratio of 3:2:1.Alternatively, commercial seedling substrates can be purchased directly.
Sowing steps: You can sow directly or soak the seeds to promote germination.Soak the seeds in warm water at 30℃ for 2-4 hours, remove them and wrap them with wet gauze.Place them in an environment at 20-25℃ for 1-2 days to promote germination.Once the seeds are white, they can be sown.Fill the soil into a container, water thoroughly, sow 1-2 seeds per hole, cover with 0.5-1cm of thin soil, and gently compact.
Planting: Transplant 4-6 true leaves, choose cloudy evening, plant spacing of 20 × 25cm (loose leaves)/30 × 35cm (clumping), plant with soil clumps and water to fix roots.
Management: Keep the soil moist (avoid waterlogging), suitable temperature of 12-22℃, prefer light and avoid high temperature, apply nitrogen fertilizer twice as the main fertilizer, manually weed, prevent and control downy mildew and aphids.
Harvesting: Scattered leaf seedlings with a height of 20-25cm can be harvested, and the whole plant can be pulled up after the core is tightly packed.Harvesting is best in the morning/evening.
