Dual Large Diaphragms
The dual large diaphragms are gold-vapourised and aged to achieve optimum characteristics over years of use. 
Pads and Filters
This microphone is equipped with a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter and 10 dB pad. This makes it versatile in a number of studio applications which require multiple configurations. Bass roll-off cuts the bass frequencies that the mic picks up. In cardioid use the mic has a "proximity effect," a boosting of the bass when the source is close to the mic. With the high-pass attenuator on, you can get close to the mic and not have that bass buildup. The mic has a built-in preamp circuit and if the sound is too loud it can make that circuit distort. So you'd use the attenuator when you record something like a screaming vocalist, loud brass instruments, or a loud guitar amp.
